Announcing Newsroom Network & The Transition

Hi everyone, I’m Christopher Price, CEO of MechaWorks. I’d like to take a brief moment to give you an update on where we’ve been, and what’s happening to our great web sites that we’ve built already.

As you may know, MechaWorks is shifting gears. We’re embarking on a great new journey in console development. Actually, we’ve been working on it behind the scenes since day one. Our publishing assets have been the bootstrapping tool that we used to get to this point; to be able to announce the world’s most powerful console.

We can’t thank you enough for tuning into all of our sites, from PhoneNews.com to AnimeNews.biz, and everything in-between. If it weren’t for viewers like you, boostrapping would have been much more difficult.

In this tough venture capital market, it just doesn’t make sense for a startup to have two separate business units. Publishing and Video Games just don’t cross over enough for us to keep them in one operation. So, today we’re announcing that our web sites, and publishing assets, will be spun off into a separate company: Newsroom Network.

This transition will be completed over the course of the remainder of this year. As a part of this transition, Newsroom Network is going to be able to focus simply on publishing, and those of us staying at MechaWorks will be able to turn our attention to making sure Full Circle is a huge success. There will be little to no overlap in the two teams; our goal is to ensure the folks at MechaWorks have no day-to-day involvement in Newsroom Network.

Newsroom Network will not simply be a holding company for existing web sites. It’s going to continue to grow. We have some great rebrands coming, and we intend to make Newsroom Network a recognizable, competitive brand in the online media. That means new names for a lot of sites, and a lot of new team members.

Transitions aren’t easy, this isn’t our first, or our last. But, making this switch happen will ensure that both sides of MechaWorks can continue to do what they do best. We promise to make this transition as seamless and transparent to you, the reader.
